While Request Accounting automatically retrieves token prices from leading data providers like Coingecko, there are certain scenarios where accurate price fetching might be challenging. This typically occurs with:
Newly launched tokens not yet listed on price aggregators
NFT transactions, which have unique pricing mechanisms
Tokens with limited market data or low liquidity
As an alternative, you can now manually update token prices for inflow transactions. This guide will walk you through the process of manually updating token prices.
To update token prices in Request Accounting, please follow the steps below:
Navigate to your transactions through either:
Individual wallet transactions view
Unified transactions view
Locate the transaction you want to modify and click the pencil icon next to the token price
Enter the new fiat value of the inflow in the edit field
Click the checkmark to confirm your changes
Review the confirmation popup which displays:
Original token price
Original total value
New token price
New total value
Token quantity
6. Click "OK" to confirm the changes
7. Navigate to Tax Lots and recalculate the cost basis to ensure the changes are reflected in your reports
Important Notes:
This feature is only available for inflow transactions to prevent potential tax manipulation
Manual price updates are permanent and will persist even after wallet updates or hard resets
You can modify the manual price multiple times as needed
Cost basis must be recalculated after price updates for accurate reporting
Changes will not be reflected in reports until cost basis is recalculated
